Jake Melanson
Leading Precision
A finish carpenter by trade, Jake has spent decades honing a craftsman’s eye for quality, a passion for detail, and a relentless drive for precision. But Jake isn’t just a perfectionist — he’s a builder who has turned a mind that runs a mile a minute into a superpower. Chasing every milestone, detail, and idea. Where some might see chaos, Jake has focus, foresight, and a knack for anticipating every challenge before it appears.
Unlike many contractors, Jake stays hands-on from the first sketch to the final finish. As President of Precision Custom Homes, he builds in Moncton, Dieppe, Riverview, Shediac, and South-Eastern New Brunswick — personally overseeing every step of the process, from the foundation to the smallest trim detail.
“I am the on-site foreman,” he says. “I’m a hands-on builder.” And if there’s a custom piece of woodwork to be done, chances are Jake isn’t just supervising — he’s shaping it himself. He gestures to an exquisitely arched window frame, explaining how each piece was custom-cut, steamed, and bent into perfect radius.

“I build relationships first, homes second. Communication is key. I always answer my phone. Our clients get updates — calls, photos, videos — if they can’t be on-site themselves. I open-book-it, all the way. No unpleasant surprises. Only ones that make you smile.”
– Jake Melanson
When asked who executed the delicate finish work, Jake flashes a quick smile. “Oh, I did that myself,” he says. It’s this deep sense of pride in precision that sets him and his team apart.
“I spent a decade assembling the best craftspeople, trades, and suppliers,” he adds. “If they weren’t the best, they wouldn’t be working with me.”
Jake’s approach to his team is more partnership than hierarchy — built on mutual respect, an uncompromising work ethic, and shared passion for fine craftsmanship. “If you have the best, and they’re willing to work with you, you treat them the best — always. That’s why they stay. Simple as that.”
